This year’s event was bigger than ever with more than 700 events, including workshops put on by The Climate Pledge.
For nine days at the end of June, more than 45,000 people descended on London for the seventh annual London Climate Action Week, Europe’s largest city-wide climate festival. Scholars, business leaders, policy makers, and activists all convened to collaborate and discuss the future of our planet, including Ed Miliband, the United Kingdom’s secretary of state for energy and security and net zero. Highlights included his address on the future of clean energy, and a call from COP30 CEO Ana Toni for a global mutirão—collective action toward the shared goal of halting global warming.

New this year, on June 24 and 25, we hosted The Climate Pledge Hub, a private hospitality experience where more than 250 signatories and invited guests met, networked, and attended interactive and tactical workshops. Read on to learn more from our two days of programming.

Electric trucking adoption: strategies for scaling

The Climate Pledge and Smart Freight Centre (SFC) hosted a hands-on workshop on scaling clean freight solutions through the Zero Emission Port Drayage Alliance, an initiative to reduce emissions when transporting goods between ports, rail yards, and warehouses.

Industry leaders came together during this dynamic session to discuss SFC's 2040 strategic vision for port decarbonization, and to share and learn more about pilot programs at key local and global ports including Felixstowe, Rotterdam, Los Angeles, Shanghai, and New York. Participants also collaborated on market-based solutions to accelerate the adoption of electric trucking around ports.

Inspiration to impact: climate action through transformative connections

During a fireside chat, Amazon Director of Marketing and Events Meighan McLafferty and Adam Met, a member of the multiplatinum band AJR and founder of the research center Planet Reimagined, illustrated how harnessing the power of connection can transform the way we communicate about climate change and inspire action.

Met and McLafferty shared examples of how to build and leverage connections across diverse business sectors and communities, and highlighted personal insights, lessons learned, and practical tools for transforming inspiration into tangible impact.
