Volt Energy Utility (Volt) is an African-American owned national utility-scale solar developer occupying a very unique position in the renewable energy sector. Volt develops utility-scale projects that decisively meet the clean energy, environmental and diversity goals of its clients. In 2021, Volt Energy Utility signed an agreement with Microsoft to supply the corporation with 250 megawatts of solar power. Volt Environmental Justice Power Purchase Agreement produces a funding stream from solar projects that support environmental justice causes through the Sharing the Power Foundation; an independently-operated entity founded by Volt. Volt’s founder and CEO Gilbert Campbell is a board member of the Solar Energy Industry Association and the Clean Energy Buyers Association.
