Companies sign The Climate Pledge because they understand the innovative thinking, industry-level action, and cross-sector collaboration required to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius to avoid the most severe impacts of climate change. Now, Time magazine has acknowledged several of these trailblazing organizations on its list of 500 businesses doing best for the Earth.
The World’s Most Sustainable Companies of 2025, published in June, recognizes those leading the global business community for assiduously measuring and reporting on their emissions, prioritizing corporate social responsibility, and more. Five of the world’s top 10 sustainable companies on the list are Pledge signatories: Schneider Electric (ranked 1, with a score of 93.85); Telefónica (ranked 2, with a score of 87.68); Brambles (ranked 3; with a score of 86.14); NEC Corporation (ranked 7, with a score of 84.91); and Siemens (ranked 9; with a score of 83.43).

To produce this year’s list, Time and the data firm Statista considered companies’ public commitment to and progress toward sustainability targets during the 2023 calendar year. The publication selected from more than 5,000 of the world’s largest and most influential companies, applying a rigorous, four-step methodology that took into account more than 20 data points.
Each finalist company received an overall sustainability score, with a maximum achievable score of 100. The world’s most sustainable companies hail from more than 30 countries, with the highest numbers from the United States, Japan, and France. See the full list here.
